Your opinion on Paul Allen?
I mean the ex WHU and Spurs player, not the ex Microsoft guy.

Was listening to a Kumb podcast recently, where Phil Parkes said that Allen seems to think us fans hate him for moving to the yids. Parksie said though that WHU fans love him and this got a round of applause(!)

So is he a) a West Ham boy, integral part of the 1980 Cup Final team, who happened to just move on when his contract run down to further his career, or b) a Judas yid cunt, who can be seen giving it to the Chicken Run after Ardiles scored at UP in the 1986 season?

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
He played for Swindon at the end of his career, probably around 1998.

I saw him in a local nightclub around that time with a couple of other Swindon players and my first thought was how small he was.

My second thought was I can't believe this guy that made history for MY club 18 years previously was standing within a couple of feet of me.

My third thought was that I desperately needed a piss so I went for a piss.

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
Martin Peters was a brilliant player - but my memories are that he was an absolute cunt of a man. I dislike him more than Ince, McDougal and any other that left us and took the piss when returning

Be in no doubt though, a dream player

Allen came from a line of Yids I think, Les? - good little player but a mere trifle in the scheme of things

And I was a t Wembley behind the goal too, no doubt the little bugger would have scored and set off a rumpus

He will forever be our beloved 1980 FA Cup winning West Ham baby Legend.

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
I've nothing against him but then I need him to sign my 1980 FA Cup final shirt. I went to a an anniversary dinner last year where most of the 1980 team were present but he buggered off sharpish.

Peters was 1st, but back then
we didn't quite hate the yids (or even call em Yids) like we do today
If Martin Peters came to Upton Park today he'd get a decent reception
Paul Allen wouldn't

Agree with Hugh Monteith 4:13 Tue Jun 9

He was our main man by t he end of the 1985 season. It was disappointing that he left but our short term fortune improved considerably.

He was a hard worker journeyman who had a decent career without ever hitting the heights.

Had a good spell with us but haters gonna hate.

Quite right Duke, and Sold0.

No idea why I thought it was Gale. It was Alvin Martin, who had two testimonials, as did Bill.

Tony Gale's was against the Tea Caddies.

Re: Your opinion on Paul ALLEN?
The season, his last season with us ,he was the shining light of our side, there was an air of expectation when he got the ball, and a will from the supporters for him to get the ball.
I was despperayely sad to see him leave,as I always am particularly with our star players.
But the cash from the sale furnished the club with players that gave our side balance and formed what was our most successful first division side ever

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
I remember standing behind the goal when Allen broke free with just the keeper to beat and everyone was willing him to bury it and I visualised the ball flying past their keeper into the net as he was about to pull the trigger, then pulled down by Willie Young. I am convinced if not fouled he would have scored and it would have been an amazing memory.

The first?
Percy Mapley was transferred from West Ham to Tottenham in 1904, after playing 17 games.

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
Didn't him and Julian have to go off in Tony Gale's testimonial?

It was Alvin Martin's testimonial. Julian had to be subbed or the ref would have sent him off.
